Alexander McCabe, a native of greater Boston and son of a retired Tufts University Professor, and brother of well-know Blues Pianist Matt McCabe. Alto saxophonist McCabe's first national release is an eight-song collection, with something to please everyone. The surreal "Floating" sets the pace for gems as the pop-like, "Taylor Made",
The title cut inspired by traditional Irish music, "The Round" has alternating accordion and sax, followed by "Village Walk". McCabe's quartet also features Joe Barbato (piano/accordion), Ugonna Okegwo (bass), and drummer Steve Johns. The jazzy "Jugo" features an interesting Cuban rhythm. The straight ahead blues tune "Yours" the gentle bossa nova swaying "A Cry From the Rain Forest", and sadly all comes to an end with the groovy "Salvo. Fine compositions that will get your attention and not let go!
